TERRIBLE TAKE. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TAKE. if we weren’t mutuals i would block u for this ask. i’ve gotten everything from death threats to lazytown nsfw in my inbox but this may just be the worst thing i have ever received. :^/
cranky cuz I’m right huh? mad and steamed due to the fact that I am correct? pitiful. how sad
no!! i’m cranky because the reason red is used for the capulets and blues for montagues is likely because they represent and therefore emphasise the characters’ traits. the capulets (namely juliet and tybalt) are very passionate, bold, and impulsive, and the montagues (namely romeo and benvolio) come off as sincere, loyal, and trustworthy.
colours always have meaning if they’re prevalent or specifically pointed out in artistic pieces, and red and blue, despite not being complementary colours, are most commonly used for a huge variety of reasons that i’m not gonna delve into since we’re already talking about them exclusively.
but back to the point of r&j, it would be really unsettling for anyone to see a dude wearing any shade of blue jeering at a guy in red to fight him in any artistic piece. and if the unsettling breach of red & blue colour representation doesn’t mean anything, then there’s no reason to include it.
tl;dr the capulets are red and the montagues r blue and if u disagree then ur a fool and a coward
